She’s Mute

Sharp pieces of glass,
buried inside her,
She learned to live with them,
She even embraced them.

But suddenly,
They moved,

Excruciating pain pierced through her entire body,
Invisible blood soaked everything around her.

Thoughts she had suffocated erupted like a volcano,
Chaos,
Sadness,
Emptiness,
Fear,
Shame,
Guilt.

She feared that others might step on the broken glass,
She wanted to scream,
don’t go there,

But she was mute.

Mute by choice.

Society’s choice.
